16 Sparrows

If you're looking for stationery that is decidedly different from what you might find in most stores, check out the indie stationery company 16 Sparrows.

At some point I'm going to get my hands on that Telegram stationery -- which is based on 1920's British telegrams (old chap). And I love their alternative Valentine card, though it's far too late to buy one for this year, unfortunately (though the message is 'flexible' enough not to be limited to only Valentines day).

Telegram Stationery ($12.00 for set of 6 telegrams and 6 envelopes)

Letter Writers Alliance Stationery ($12 for set of 6 vintage-styled writing paper and envelopes)

'Take those damn pants off' Valentines card ($4.00) I really love that card -- it's a bit cheeky, in a sweet kind of way -- just like me (ha!).

Steampunk Jewellery: Mullanium Designs

I don't think Jim and Tori Mullan at Mullanium would classify their jewellery as being specifically Steampunk in style, but -- with their clever use of recycled metals and parts from antique timepieces -- many of their pieces have a strong Steampunk look about them.

All of Jim and Tori's designs are handmade at their Pompano Beach studio in Florida and the pair travel all over the country collecting antique found objects to include in their jewellery and home accessories creations.

I first came across Mullanium jewellery about a month ago, when I was doing some research for a blog feature. It really was love at first sight when I set eyes on their designs -- the jewellery and the little boxes are beautifully unique and whimsical in the very best way. Mullanium are currently updating their website, so I can't put a link to them yet but we've just put some of their designs on the Larkin & Catcher Store (by the way -- their creations are not only lovely to look at but they are exceptionally well-made).
